Mrs. Ethel Arnold retired housewife and long-time resident of the Fowlkes Community died at 8:30 p.m. Friday June 14, at the home of a daughter at Fowlkes She was 83 and had been ill for six weeks

George Ellis Arnold, widely known landowner of Frankstown, was killed instantly at, 3:30 p.m., Wednesday, December 26 in a three vehicle traffic accident on Highway 45, near his home. He was 76. Services for Mr. Arnold were held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 28, in the chapel of Waters Funeral Home with the Rev. Hugh Conwill officiating. Burial was in the Booneville Cemetery with Waters Funeral Directors in charge. Mr. Arnold was supervisor of the third district of Prentiss, County for 12 years; and was a widely known singer of gospel songs for many years. He was a Mason.
He leaves his wife, Mrs. Evora Owen Arnold; two daughters, Mrs. Hugh Epting of Jericho and Mrs. Horace Browning of Rienzi; a son, Acker Arnold of Frankstown; a sister, Mrs. Wes Grisham of Baldwyn; 10 grandchildren and 24 great ‑grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Austin of Corinth; three daughters, Trish Briggs and husband, Frankie, of Adamsville, Tenn., Rosemary Dawson of Whitehouse, Tenn., and Myra Willis and husband, Mike, of Corinth; one son, Vic Austin and wife, Gina, of Brighton, Tenn.; his grandchildren, Rachel Briggs, Adam Briggs and wife, Stacy, of Adamsville, Tenn., Mandy Corbin and husband, Shannon, of Corinth, Corey Keltner of Knoxville, Tenn., Haley Willis of Knoxville, Tenn., Jacob Willis of Corinth, Caroline Austin, Savannah Austin, Lee Peyton, all of Brighton, Tenn.; his great-grandchildren, Katie Beth Corbin and Riley Corbin, both of Corinth, and Julia Nicole Briggs (due in Aug. 2005) of Adamsville; one sister, Eleanor Enlzian and husband, Albert, of Dunkirk, Maryland; his first wife and the mother of his children, Delola Austin of Corinth.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gail W. Austin and Nellie E. Austin; his second wife, Barbara Austin; five brothers, Bob, John, Bud, Dick and Charles Austin; one sister, Mary Jane Austin.

Survivors include a stepson, Charles Howie Jr. and wife, Becky, of Corinth; three daughters, Marcia Mauney and husband, Tommy, Bonita Johnston and husband, Jim, and Paula Parvin and fiance, Allen, all of Corinth; a stepdaughter, Kay Duncan and husband, Danny, of Corinth; a brother, Garry Rowsey of Counce, Tenn.; a sister, Sybil Matlock and Betty Wood, all of Corinth; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.
