Bertie Glen Windham Dobbins, 92, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2002, at Longwood Community Living Center in Booneville.

Services were Sunday, Jan. 20, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Joe Keith Carpenter and the Rev. Harley Krause officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Dobbins was a former owner of Dobbins Florist. She was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the UMW. She was a devout Democrat and Methodist. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Dobbins.

She is survived by one daughter, Jane Cox Davis of Booneville; two sisters, Mary Lee Spencer of Booneville and Lucy Dillon of Iuka; l four grandchildren, Cathy Dunaway, Jeff Cox, Jason Cox and Candace Mache; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

JARRETT DOBBINS

IUKA - Jarrett Randolph Dobbins, 82, died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born May 16, 1921, in Alcorn County to Eldridge R. and Laura L. Martindale Dobbins. He was a retired painter for TVA and a member of the Brotherhood of Allied Traders and Painters Local. He was a member of the Iuka Church of Christ, the VFW, the Sons of the Confederacy, the Iuka Wellness Center and the National Rifle Association. He was a certified genealogical record researcher. An avid golfer, he enjoyed weightlifting and researching family history.

Services were Friday, Oct. 17, 2003, at the Iuka Church of Christ with Minister Lance Foster officiating. Burial was in Forrest Memorial Park. Corinthian Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Johnston Dobbins of Iuka; a son, William Melton Rorie of Lone Oak, Ga.; five daughters, Frankie Sue Beard of Florence, Ala., Fredda Lou Sanderson of Iuka, Donna Dobbins Douberly of Douglasville, Ga., Donna Yvette Huey of Florence, Ala., and Deborah Jane Dobbins of Lithia Springs, Ga.; a brother, Billy Dobbins of Corinth; a sister, Aleine Johnson of Corinth; 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Dominica Mamie Borboro; a daughter, Helene Doles; a brother, Travis Dobbins; and a sister, Elva Marie Young.

Pallbearers were his grandsons, Harmon W. McGill, Jason McGill, Travis Beard, Derick Donald Sanderson Jr., Joshua Taylor Rorie, Randolph Douberly and Mark Huey.

HATTIE DOBBS

BOONEVILLE - Hattie Jackson Dobbs died Saturday, April 26, 1997, at her residence. She was born to James and Sphorina Jackson on March 2, 1904, in the Marietta Community. She married Rev. Sidney Dobbs on Dec. 25, 1919, and they enjoyed 69 years of marriage until the time of his death on April 25, 1989. She was a retired homemaker and industrial worker and was a member of the Baptist church. She enjoyed gardening, raising flowers and reading her bible.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday from the Chapel of Salt's Funeral Home with the Rev. Roy Lofton officiating, Burial will be in the Marietta Methodist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Nell Ford of Booneville and Mildred Kent of Fulton; four sons, Sidney Dobbs Jr. of Guntown, Hoyt Dobbs of Blue Springs, Horace Dobbs and Morris Dobbs, both of Mantachie; 16 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Chad Powell, William Powell, Eric Dobbs, Tim Cooper, Bob Kent and Lynn Dobbs.

Visitation will begin at 10:30 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Mr. Dobbins died Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2003, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Born May 16, 1921, in Alcorn County, he was a retired painter for TVA who followed four generations of craftsman painters. He was a member of Iuka Church of Christ, the Brotherhood of Allied Traders and Painters Local, the VFW, Sons of the Confederacy, and the Iuka Wellness Center, where he enjoyed weight lifting and visiting with other members.

Mr. Dobbins was an avid golfer who loved family history and was a certified genealogical record researcher. He was a member of the National Rifle Association, but he put his guns away after heart surgery in 1998.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eldridge R. and Laura L. Martindale; his first wife, Dominica Mamie Borboro; a daughter, Nelene Doles; a brother, Travis Dobbins; and a sister, Elva Marie Young.

DR. JO ANNICE DOBBS

BALDWYN - Jo Annice Dobbs, Ed.D., died Friday, Jan. 16, 2004, after an extended illness. She was born in Baldwyn to Betty Joe Dobbs and the late James Harold Dobbs. She was an honor graduate of Baldwyn High School, the University of Mississippi, Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and the University of Georgia. She was an elementary band teacher, inspiring and encouraging hundreds of students throughout her 17 year career in Lexington, S. C. She also taught 4th and 5th grade Sunday School at Lexington Baptist Church. She participated in numerous mission trips here and abroad and served on the missions committee at her church. Showing and sharing Christ's love was the most important thing in her life. She was a founding member of Challenging Children for Christ and the International Fellowship of Educators. She played French horn in various church and community orchestras. She was also a member of a local brass quintet.

Graveside services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Prentiss County Memorial Gardens. A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. today at the First Baptist Church of Baldwyn. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her mother, Betty Joe Dobbs; two sisters, Cresada Barnett and husband, Ken, of Corinth, and Candy Dobbs of Baldwyn; a brother, Skip Dobbs and wife, Wendy, of St. Louis, Mo.; her nephews, Jeb Barnett of Corinth, Jacob Dobbs and Mason Dobbs of St. Louis, Mo.; a niece, Kaleigh Dobbs of St. Louis.

She was preceded in death by her father; her grandparents, Clarence and Iona Burns, and Audie and Zelma Dobbs; her uncles, Berwyn Burns, Harold Burns and Otha Lee Dobbs; her aunt, Yvonne Outlaw; and a cousin, Mary O'Callagan.

Mrs. Jim Dobbins Dies Thurs. After Extended Illness

Funeral services for Mrs. Jim Dobbins of Booneville, Route Five were conducted Friday afternoon in the chapel of McMillan Funeral Home with Revs. W. L. Wallace and Huey Wood officiating. Burial was in the Booneville Cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mrs. Dobbins died Thursday at 8:30 a.m. in the home of her son, Paul Dobbins, following an extended illness. She was born in Monroe County, Mississippi but had spent most of her life in Prentiss County. Mrs. Dobbins was a member of the Methodist Church and a housewife. She was 86.

Survivors include three sons, Paul, Earl and Van Dobbins, all of Booneville; one brother, Romie Lann of Plantersville; five sisters, I Mrs. Florence Evans of San Marcus, Texas, Mrs. Cordie Sparks of Fort Smith, Ark., Mrs. Myrtle Dot, bins of Mooreville Mrs. Bess Estes and Mrs. May Whitehead, both of Plantersville; four grandchildren) and five great-grandchildren.

REV. SIDNEY DOBBS

The Rev. Sidney Dobbs, 98, of 207 N. Lake St., Booneville, died Tuesday morning, April 25, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness.

Omar Wilson Jones, 69, of 103 Lafayette St., Booneville, died Sunday evening, Jan. 31, at the Baptist M mortal Hospital after an extended illness.

Services were Tuesday, Feb. 2, at 2 p.m. at Salts Funeral Home with the Rev. Milton, Dr. Bill Duncan and Dr. Chuck Hampton officiating. Burial was in Osborn Creek Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was employed by the State of Mississippi for 23 years where he served as Privilege Tax Director in Jackson, Miss. He was a retired funeral home owner, a member of Gaston Baptist Church, a Mason and a Shriner.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Ree Jones; one daughter, Mrs. Betty Bingham of Booneville; one son, Ben Jones of Booneville; two sisters, Mrs. Lurlene Davis and Mrs. Nell Johnson, both of Booneville; one brother, Vance Jones of Booneville; and one grandson, Will Bingham of Booneville.

Services were Wednesday, April 26, at 3 p.m. at the Free Will Baptist Church with the Revs. Luther Gibson and Johnny Sherrill officiating. Burial was in Marietta Cemetery. Salts Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Dobbs was a retired Baptist preacher, having served 60 years in his ministry. He was a veteran of World War I and the recipient of a Distinguished Gold Medal commemorating his war service. He was a member of the Booneville American Legion Post and the First Free Will Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Mrs. Hattie Jackson Dobbs; two daughters, Mrs. Mildred Kent of Mantachie and Mrs. Mary Nell Ford of Booneville; four sons, Hoyt Dobbs of Blue Springs, Sidney Dobbs Jr. of Guntown, Horace Dobbs and Morris Dobbs, both of Mantachie; 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

BOBBYE JEAN DODDS

BOONEVILLE - Bobbye Jean Dodds, 55, died Sunday, June 10, 1990, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness. She was a beautician and a member of the Methodist church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Don Sparks, the Rev. Robert Harden and the Rev. John Savoy officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband, Raymond Dodds of Booneville; two daughters, Rebecca Barnes and Debra Bishop, both of Booneville; her parents, Birdie Freeman and Aubrey Freeman, both of Kenton, Tenn.; five grandchildren.

CHRIS DODDS

Christopher Adam "Chris" Dodds, 21, of Booneville, died Friday, April 2, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville of an accidental, self inflicted gunshot wound.

Services were Monday, April 5, at 2 p.m. al Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Bowling officiating. Burial was in Martin Hill Cemetery.

He was boar May 4, 1977, in Tupelo and was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County. He was a 1995 graduate of Thrasher High School, where he was a member of Future Business Leaders, of America, the Beta Club and the Society of Who's Who of American High School Students. A construction worker, he was employed by Pearson Construction Company of Belmont. He was a member of Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church. He enjoyed dirt track raring fishing, playing pool and swimming.

He is survived by his parent,, Gerald and Cathy (Eaton) Dodds of Booneville; a sister, Traci Cooper and her husband, Jeff, of Michie, Tenn.; a nephew, Zachary Cooper, his grandparents, Floyd and Emogene Dodds of Booneville, Junior and Mauveline Kesler of Wheeler, and Edward Eaton of Jumpertown; and a host of uncles and aunts.

Pallbearers were Terry Gilley. Jerry Gilley, Chris Davis, Danel Gilley, Fred Tyler and James Miles, Honorary pallbearers were his fellow members of the 1995 graduating class of Thrasher High School.

Dail S. Dodds, 83, of Booneville, died Friday, Nov. 8, 2002, at the Southerland Place Assisted Living Facility in Germantown, TN, after a brief illness. Services were Tuesday, Nov. 12. Burial was in the Liberty Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

MEMPHIS ‑ Homer Dodds, 82, died Tuesday, Sept. 28, 1999, at St. Francis Hospital in Memphis after an extended illness. He was retired from Firestone after working 32 years, and was a member of Martin Hill Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Floyd Simmons officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Memorial Gardens.

BOONEVILLE Martha Hill Dodds, 55, died Monday, Dec. 15, 1997 at the Elvis Presley Trauma Center in Memphis as the result of an automobile accident. She was a retired employee of Brown Shoe Co. and a member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ben Griffin and the Rev. Ed Lowery officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband Raymond Dodds; one daughter, Regenia Hill Duncan and her husband, Wayne, of Rienzi; two step-daughters, Rebecca Barnes and her husband, Jerry, and Deborah Bishop and her husband, Marty, both of Booneville; one son, Danny Hill and his wife, Cathy, of Booneville; one brother, J. RUBLE WAYNE DODDS

Ruble Wayne Dodds, 53, died Wednesday. April 8. 1988. at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born Nov. 24. 1944. to Robert Earl Dodds and Zelma Estelle Dodds. He was a long time resident of Prentiss County. He was welder, and employee of Hodges Wood products and a member of the Little Creek Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving in Germany front 1966‑67. He enjoyed fishing, gardening, camping with his nephews, and doing special things for his family.

Services were Friday at Salts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Terry Graham and the Rev. Rick Bowling officiating. Burial was in Martin Hill Cemetery

Survivors include ore daughter, Rebecca Dodds of New Site; his mother Estelle Dodds of Burnsville; four sisters, Dorothy Crum of Kosuuth, Bobbie, Jones of Booneville, Yvonne Phillips of Memphis & Shirley Robinson of New Site, two brothers, Carroll Dodds & Donald Dodds hour of Booneville, two grandchildren, Ashley Dodds & Matthew Timmons.

CLARA DODSON

FULTON - Clara Dodson, 86, died Friday, Jan. 21, 2005, at Daniel Health Care Complex. She was born June 2, 1918, in Fairview to the late H.V. Trulove and Kate Webb Trulove. She was a restaurant owner and also worked for Itawamba Manufacturing. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. She attended Itawamba Junior College and studied pottery from 1982 to 1983. She enjoyed sewing, and doing crafts and craft shows.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. William M. Waddle officiating. Burial will be in Hardin Chapel Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Gaynell Jackson and husband, Jim, of Fulton; a son, Johnnie Wilson and wife, Earnesteen, of Fulton; a daughter-in-law, Laru Wilson of Belmont; two sisters, Opaline Collier and Lois Crane of Douglas, Ga.; two brothers, Murl Trulove and J.H. Trulove, all of Douglas, Ga.; four grandchildren, Jimmie Wilson and wife, Kathy, Emily Gray and husband, Garvin, of Fulton, Randy Wilson, and Joey Wilson and wife, Christy, all of Belmont; seven great-grandchildren, Lara Wilson, Kandiace and Kody Gray, Dayton Wilson, and Dustin, Miranda and Tyler Wilson; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands, Coy Wilson, her children's father, and Karl Dodson; a son, Billy Joe Wilson; and two brothers, Herman and Earl Trulove.

HELEN DODSON

CORINTH - Helen Brown Dodson, 76, died at her home. She worked at Perkins Drug Store many years ago. She was of the Church of Christ faith.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery.

Survivors include two sisters, Gladys Brown Smith and Myrtle Brown Parish, both of Corinth; a niece, Syble Thrasher; many other nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Dodson, and her parents, Walter Lee Brown and Hettie Mills Brown.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to service time today.

MAXINE DODSON

WATERFORD - Maxine Dodson, 74, died Saturday, Nov. 29, 2003, at her home. She was born March 1, 1929, in Prentiss County. She was a Baptist and a homemaker. She was the widow of Walker C. Dodson.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Holly Springs Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby McKay officiating. Burial will be in Dodson Family Cemetery at Waterford.

Survivors include a son, Sammy Dodson of Holly Springs; two brothers, Jim Mink of Starkville and Bobby Mink of Fresno, Calif.; three sisters, Margaret Castevens of Booneville, Lydia Boxx of Victoria and Dot Morgan of Mooreville; three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren.

PETE DOLES

CORINTH - Services for Pete Doles, 48, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday at West Corinth Pentecostal Tabernacle with the Revs, Merl Dixon and David Edwards and Dr. Don Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Henry Cemetery. He died Monday, Aug. 5, 1991, at The Med in Memphis, Tenn. a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Corinth; he was vocal coach and music teacher in Tupelo and Memphis. He received his master’s degree from Ole Miss and was a three-time winner on the Ted Mack Amateur Hour.

Survivors include his wife, Rosa Szewczuk Doles of Memphis; his mother, Loretto Ingram Doles of Corinth; one nephew, two nieces and six great-nieces and great-nephews.

Pallbearers will be Mark Franz, Johnny Young, Billy Hurley, Wyliss Kemp, Donald Hopper and Sam Magliolo.

Visitation will be at West Corinth Pentecostal Tabernacle from 3 to 9 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time Thursday.

EARL DOSS

BOONEVILLE ‑ Earl Thomas Doss, 76, died Friday, Feb. 2, 2001, his home after an extended illness. He was born May 24, 1924, in Prentiss County to Will and Ossie Mae Wilson Doss. He was a Baptist, He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World War II, serving as a gunner on the USS Thetis Bay. He was a farmer for 25 years and that worked as a carpenter until his retirement. He was a member of America Legion Post No. 123, serving as adjutant for several years. He enjoyed attending blue grass music festivals.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete Wooley and Bra. Jams; Tidwell officiating. Burial will be it Gaston Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 5; years, Nellie Lease Killough Doss whom he married Due. 24, 1947; tune daughters, Carol Thompson and he husband, Gerald, and Pam Umfleet and her husband, Sam, all o Booneville; one sister, Mary Elizabeth Zinn and her husband, Fred, of Shawnee, Kan.; four grandchildren, Cindi Wilson, Scott Thompson, Brandy Weaver and Amy Smith; two great-grandchildren, Eli Wilson and Alexis Weaver.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother. Milton Doss.

RIENZI - G. B. Donahue Sr., 74, died Tuesday, July 6, 2004, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was a former supervisor with American Motors. He was a member of the Hinkle Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War and recipient of the Purple Heart.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Excail Burleson officiating. Burial will be in the Rienzi Cemetery.

BALDWYN - Lorene Donahue, 92, died Friday, Sept. 9, 2005, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the East Mount Zion Baptist Church for more than 30 years.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today at the Waters Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Gerald Cagle and Bro. Herman James officiating. Burial will be in the East Pleasant Ridge Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Elizabeth James and her husband, Herman, of Baldwyn; one son, Charles Donahue and his wife, Addie, of Baldwyn; one daughter-in-law, Betty Donahue of Baldwyn; one half-sister, Joyce Conway of Blue Springs; eight grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; nine step-great-grandchildren; 12 great-great-grandchildren and one step-great-great-grandchild.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Mary Grace Martin Doss, 92, died Monday, Feb. 5, 2001, at the Corinth Health and Rehabilitation Center in Corinth. She was born Oct. 18, 1908, in Tippah County to Everett and Martha Belle Jernigan Martin. She was a homemaker and a member of Gaston Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, needlepoint sewing, and working in her yard and flowerbeds. She loved her family and all the people in the Doss community.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ben Parman and Bro. Charlie Cooper officiating. Burial will be in the Gaston Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter, Mary Keels of Rienzi; one granddaughter, Elaine Putts, and her husband, Phillip, of Rienzi; one grandson, Jimmy Keels of Booneville, tour great‑grandchildren, Michael Matthews and Iris wife, Make, of Booneville, Khristopher Matthews, Stephen Keels and Rachel Keele.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robed "Bob" Doss, in 1995.

BOONEVILLE - Nellie Louise Killough Doss, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at her home after a long illness. She was born Sept. 24, 1930, to Eddie Russell Killough Sr. and Sarah Estelle Berry Killough. She was a supervisor in the shirt manufacturing industry. She later worked at the Wurlitzer plant in Corinth, then in the food service industry until retiring. She was a member of Danville Baptist Church. She had been active in the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion. She enjoyed growing flowers and gardening.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete Wooley and Bro. William G. Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Gaston Cemetery.

Mrs. Doss Dies After Extended Illness

Mrs. Will Doss of Booneville, Rt. 1, passed away Thursday night at the Northeast Mississippi Hospital following an extended' illness. She was born in Cherokee, Ala, but had spent most of her life in Mississippi. She was a member of the Primitive Baptist Church and a housewife. She was 69.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon in Gaston Church with Rev. Mr. Crawford officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

She leaves a son, Earl Doss of Booneville; a daughter, Mrs. Mary Zinn of Omaha, Neb.; two brothers, Will Wilson of Wheeler and Wesley Wilson of Booneville; two half-brothers, Elmer Wilson of Booneville and Cradus Wilson of Dallas, Texas; a sister, Mrs. Jim Lovell of Booneville; three half-sisters, Mrs. Herman Wesley of Sheffield, Ala., Mrs. Oscar Bogle of Sheffield, Ala., and Miss Pauline Wilson of Michigan, and three grandchildren.

CORINTH - Gregory Franklin Dotson, 42, died Saturday, July 16, 2005, at his home. He was born Dec. 12, 1962, in South Bend, Ind., to Billy and Bessie Dozier Dotson. He was a member of the Kendrick Baptist Church and a truck driver for Alcorn Ready Mix.

Who died July 30, 1913. His remains were laid in Carolina cemetery on Wednesday following at 4 o’clock.

He was born February 3^rd 1840, and was 73 years old at his death.

He was married in 1870. He professed religion and joined the Carolina Church before the war, and lived a devoted Christian life until God called him home.

He was loved and honor by all who knew him. He leaves to mourn their loss a wife, four sons, five daughters, one brother, three sisters, and a host of connections.

MRS. REBECCA DOTY

On May 15, 1926, the Death Angel crept into a stealing from them victim our friend and neighbor Mrs. Rebecca Doty who lived about miles from Booneville.

Mrs. Doty was taken sick Wednesday and one-half miles northwest of lay morning and gradually grew worse until the end came. Everything that human skill and tender care and nursing could do was cheerfully given her, but to no avail. On Saturday morning at 11:15, she peacefully and silence passed away and her loved one and friends will know where to find her.

Mrs. Doty was born June 15, 1852, on February 15, 1870, she was untied in marriage with Mr. John Doty. To this union were born ten children nine of whom survive her five daughters and four sons Mrs. Albert Hamlin, Mrs. Wallace Hester, Mrs. Mamie Dandridge, Miss Sallie Doty, and Mrs. Roy Nicks, whose home is in Arkansas.

Beside the above there are three brothers Mr. Jim and S. S. Mason of this neighborhood and Mr. Bud Mason of Rienzi, Miss.

We known that we will miss her but we have one consolation that is – God doeth all things for the best. To the family I will say “Weep not for your mother is resting in a better land where there is no suffering, no more and partings and farewell.

Mrs. Doty was a member of the Methodist Episcopal Church at Carolina and was laid to rest in the cemetery, the pastor of that church conducted the funeral service.

The grave was covered with many a beautiful flowers showing love.

CALLIE DOUGLAS

CORINTH - Callie Phillips Douglas, 89, died Wednesday, June 4, 2003, at the Alcorn Rehab and Health Care. She was born Jan. 25, 1914, in Alcorn County to the late J. W. and Josie Phillips. She was a member of the Pleasant Hill Methodist Church. She retired after 32 years as a nurse at the Community Hospital and Magnolia Hospital. She enjoyed fishing, sewing and working in her yard. Full of life, she lived for her family and nursed not only those hospitalized but anyone in need.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Jones and Charlie Browning officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Mary Ellon Franks and husband, James Ray, of Corinth; three brothers, John T. CORINTH - Annie Killough Downs, 85, died Tuesday, Dec. 21, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born July 12, 1919, in Prentiss County to Lewis and Bell Prichard Killough. She was a homemaker and a member of Farmington Baptist Church and the Women's Missionary Association. She and her husband celebrated their 67th wedding anniversary on Dec. 18, 2004.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Farmington Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Nall and the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Corinthian Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Mrs. Downs was a housewife and a member of Carolina United Methodist Church. Mrs. C. A. Downs Dies Thursday

Funeral services for Mrs. C. A. Downs of Rienzi, Route 3, were held Friday afternoon at Gaston Baptist Church with Bro. Lamar Boothe officiating. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with McMillan Funeral Directors in charge.

Mrs. Downs passed away Thursday at 6:30 a.m. at her home following an illness of two years. St: was a member of Gaston Baptist Church and a housewife. She was 70 years of age.

Clinton Ray "C. R." Downs, 80, of Booneville, died Monday. April 15, 2002, at his residence.

Services were Wednesday, April 17, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Castor Buse and Bro. Jerry Mitchell officiating. Burial was in East Prentiss Cemetery.

Mr. Downs was a retired used car dealer and a Methodist. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War 11, serving in the European Theatre and the Asiatic Pacific Theatre where he earned European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal. Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal and Distinguished Unit Badge as a member of Murel's Marauders. He loved collecting antiques, especially cars and trucks.

He is survived by his wife, Marie Hill Downs, whom he married Dec. 24. 1942; two sons and their wives, Jimmy and Judy Downs and Benny and Carolyn Downs, all of Booneville: two sisters, Gladys Hill of Booneville and Lena Herring of Baldwyn; one brother, Milton Downs of Booneville; five grandchildren, Wendy Lenzini and husband Chris, Benjie Downs, Cindy Pratt and husband Tommy, Bradley Downs and wife Jimma, and Denjie Downs; three great-grandchildren, Alex Lenzini, Mackenzie Downs and Lena Pratt-, and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Millie Downs: three sisters, Lucy Harris, Hattie Nichols and Vennie McVey, three brothers, Felix Downs. Franklin "Buddy" Downs and Gene Downs.

PISGAH - Jackie Downs, 50, died Sunday, March 6, 2005, at her home in the Pisgah community after a brief illness. She was a member of the Brazil Baptist Church. She was the owner of Mutt Kuts and a veterinary technician. She was a breeder of champion bird dogs and was inducted into The Bird Dog Foundation in Grand Junction, Tenn. She dedicated her life to her family and the family dog business.

BOONEVILLE - Emma Jean Downs, 77, died Thursday, Aug. 28, 2003, at the Magnolia Bend Personal Care Home in Booneville. She was born July 1, 1926, in Booneville to Cletus Reed Holley and Pearl Windham Holley. She was a lifetime member of the he First Baptist Church where she served in the nursery for 18 years and was a member of the Joymakers and the Senior Adult Choir. She was a machine operator for Prentiss Manufacturing Company for over 40 years, receiving many achievement awards during her employment. After her retirement, she became a part time caregiver for the disabled. She enjoyed her children, family get-togethers, the Joymakers' luncheons and trips, and being with older people.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE - Joy Dean Downs, 81, died Tuesday, Nov. 9, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born May 1, 1923, in Rector, Ark., to Auff and Cora Ester Michael Yates. She was a member of Carolina United Methodist Church and a retired dietary supervisor for Baptist Memorial Hospital. She enjoyed quilting, visiting, flowers, gardening, reading, working crossword puzzles, talking on the phone, traveling, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ward and Brooke Downs Pounds; five great-grandchildren, Hayden Gray Hershfelt, Hayes Phillip Hershfelt, Perry Kathryn Hershfelt, Dalton Bradley Pounds and Josie Elisabeth Baird.

Lorraine Downs, 74, of Booneville, died Saturday, Dec. 29, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital Booneville after a brief illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, Dec. 30. Burial was in Pine Grove Cemetery. Local survivors include her husband, Milton Downs of Booneville; two stepdaughters, Judy Mackin and Terry Livingston, both of Booneville; a sister-in-law Genny Hatcher of Pine Grove, and a brother Bobby Mckay of Booneville

MILTON WAYNE DOWNS

Milton Wayne Downs, 37, of Route 7, Booneville, died unexpected] Monday, Sept. 9, 1985, at his residence.

Services were Wednesday, Sept. 11, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel. Burial was in Little Brown Cemetery.

Mr. Downs' occupation was auto bodywork. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his father, Milton L. Downs of Booneville; a daughter Noki Downs of Arlington, Tenn.; a brother, John Downs of Camp LeJune N.C.; and four sisters, Pat Downs of Joliet, Ill., Betty Williams of Guam Judy Edge and Terrye Livingston, both of Booneville.

SAMUEL C. DOWNS

CORINTH - Samuel C. Downs, 86, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at his home. He was born Feb. 12, 1919, to Obie and Rosic Bishop Downs. He was a retired unemployment insurance representative for the Mississippi Employment Commission. He had been a member of Farmington Baptist Church since April 1964 and served as a deacon and Sunday school teacher.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Farmington Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Nall and the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park. Corinthian Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include a son-in-law, Le Wade Strickland of Mayfield, Ky.; a granddaughter, Pam Bailey; two great-grandchildren, Damon Bailey and Casey Bailey; a niece, Rhonda Ballard; two nephews, Stanley Downs and Randy Downs; special friend, Vera and Tony Marolt.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Annie Killough Downs; his parents; a daughter, Catherine Strickland; a great-granddaughter, Marlene Childers; two brothers, Ed Downs and T.L. Downs; and two sisters, Edna and Lucille.

Esther Rinehart Doyle, 85, of Rienzi, died Wednesday, April 3, 2002, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth after a brief illness.

Services were Friday, April 5, at 1 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Bill Bynum and Elder Gene Brimingham officiating. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery.

Mrs. Doyle was a seamstress. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence Doyle: her parents, Lee and Sallie Rinehart; one son, Robert Rinehart, five sisters, Verlin Brooks, Ruth Clark, Fannie Allen, Pearl Johnsey and Mary Lee Prince; and two brothers, Otis and Van Rinehart.

She is survived by one sister-in-law, Moree Rinehart of Memphis; two brothers, Raymond Rinehart of Little Rock, Ark., and Fray Rinehart and his wife, Juanita.. of Rienzi; and a host of nieces and nephews.

FORREST DRAKE

Forrest Eudean Drake, 73, of Wheeler, died Saturday, March 24, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.

A memorial service was held Monday, March 26, at 8 p.m. at the family's home on CR 5111, Wheeler. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Drake was retired from the U. S. Navy. He was a U. S. Navy veteran of World Il. Korea and served two tours in Vietnam.

He is survived by his wife, Metty K. Drake; four sons, Allen Dale Drake, Forrest Wayne Drake, James Randall Drake and his wife, Elizabeth, all of Wheeler and Cecil Dewayne Drake and his wife, Peg, of Willington, N. C.; three sisters. Fannie Pinkerton of Oologah, Okla., Mary Sue Peck and Mag Sherwood and her husband, Harry, all of Sevierville, Tenn.; two brothers, Jim Hudson and his wife, Sue, and Billy Clayton Hudson, all of Vera, Okla., seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

CORINTH - Velon Hart Driver, 85, died Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2004 at Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born April 19, 1918 to Thomas and Mary Elizabeth George hart. She spent her time caring for and sitting with the elderly.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday, Jan. 16 at Corinthian Funeral Chapel with Minister Harold Gray officiating. Burial will follow in Forrest Memorial Park.

Survivors include a daughter, Claudette Lambert of Corinth; three grandchildren, Randy Lambert and wife Dianne, Donnie Lambert and wife Joann, and Angelia Lambert; four great-grandchildren, Kimberly, Phillip, Anna and Abby Lambert; one niece and several nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, five sisters and three brothers.

BETTY DRYE

TISHOMINGO - Betty Ruth McClung Drye, 68, died Wednesday, March 5, 2003, at the Red Bay Hospital after a long illness. She was born May 30, 1934, in Tishomingo to the late Charles and Gertrude Gardner Puckett. She worked for many years at Blue Bell in Tishomingo and retired as ward secretary at the Iuka Hospital after 18 years of service. She was a Christian and a member of Tishomingo Baptist Church. She enjoyed cooking and doing for her family and friends.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Tishomingo Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Burge, the Rev. Jim Pinkerton and the Rev. Russell Clouse officiating. Burial will be in Bethlehem Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include her husband, Art Drye of Tishomingo; a son and daughter-in-law, Tim and Susie McClung of Booneville; a sister, Annette Fleming of Woodstock, Ga.; a stepdaughter, Karen Fitts of Atlanta, Ga.; a stepgranddaughter, Sarah Smith of Atlanta, Ga.; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Avon McClung; her parents; and a brother, Lamoyne Puckett.

CORINTH - Edgar D. Duckworth, 85, died Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a retired industrial worker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Coleman-Family Chapel with Bro. Shane Evette officiating. Burial will be in the Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery in Alcorn County.

Survivors include two sisters, Fronnie Wilbanks of Carroll Corner, Ark., and Rosa Lee Mullins of Walnut; a brother, Brice Duckworth of McCullen, Ala.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Newt Duckworth and Margaret Clark Duckworth.

EULA MAE DUCKWORTH

GLEN - Eula Mae Whirley Duckworth, 87, died Monday, Feb. 9, 2004, at her home. She was a former employee of the Burnsville Sewing Factory and the old Iuka Hospital. She was a member of Glendale Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, gardening and taking care of family. "Ms. Mae" always made sure that the family and visitors had plenty of food to eat while they were there and that they carried something with them when they left.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Glendale Baptist Church with the Rev. Warren Jones and the Rev. Ron Plymel officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.

She was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, Lester "Leck" Whirley Sr.; two sons, Lester "Bud" Whirley Jr. and Lloyd Chester "Cooter" Whirley; her parents, John Dalton Crouch and Mary Lou "Anner" Cleveland Crouch; a great-grandson, Robert Nelson; a great-great-grandson, Brandon Gage Hamrick; four brothers, Noah, Dick, Jerry and William Crouch; three sisters, Rosie Self, Ludie Clark and Lula Crum; and a son-in-law, Howard "Buck" Meeks.

BOONEVILLE - Jimmy DeWayne Duckworth, 43, died Friday, June 3, 2005, at the North Miss. Medical Center. He was born April 18, 1962, in Baldwyn. He was a carpenter, a bricklayer and a heating and air conditioning worker. He attended the Holiness Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.

Survivors include his parents, John David "J.D." WILLIAM V. DUGAN

William V. Dugan, 88, of Burnsville, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2002, at his residence.

Services were Sunday, Nov. 3, at 1 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Brenda Duncan and Bro. Billy Hudson officiating. Burial was in Hilltop Church of God Cemetery.

Mr. Dugan, formerly of Kenosha, Wisconsin, was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church in Kenosha. He was a retired diesel mechanic, owned and operated Quality Cleaners in Kenosha. and was a member of Teamsters Union and Eagle's Club. He was the widower of Betty Ann Holmes Dugan.

He is survived by two sons, William Dugan, Jr. of Kenosha, Wis. and Gerald Dugan of Burnsville, and three grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Pallbearers were Joseph Wheeler, Scott Wheeler, lack Wheeler, Mike Wheeler, James McGaughy and Jhue Hendrix.

THOMAS DUKE JR.

BOONEVILLE - Thomas Ulton "Tom" Duke Jr., 78, died Monday, June 2, 2003, at Dap- , list Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a brief illness. He was born Nov. 28, 1924, in Pontotoc County to Thomas Ulton Duke Sr., and Viola Baldwin Duke. He was the owner of the Jumpertown Feed Store and a Baptist. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War. He was the recipient of the Purple Heart and the Bronze Star, and commander of the VFW Post 4877 in Booneville. He enjoyed exotic animals and showing Tennessee walking horses. He loved all people, especially children.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Charles Lamb officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Darlene Duke; a son, Tom Duke and wife, Kay Rutherford Duke, of Memphis; his mother, Viola Wright of Hicksville, Ohio; three brothers, Gene Duke and ; wife, Barbara, of Olive Branch, Victor Lynn Duke and wife, Jeanette, of i Spencerville, Ind., and James Edge of Ohio; two grandsons, Tommy Duke IV, and wife, Christine, and Joseph Duke, all of Memphis.

He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Ulton Duke Sr., and a sister, Ann Witt.

CHEROKEE, Ala. - William W. Duke, 35, died Sunday, Oct. 26, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was a construction worker and a U.S. Navy veteran.

After cremation, a memorial service will be held in East Liverpool, Ohio. Cutshall Funeral home is in charge of the arrangements.

He was preceded in death by his father, Carl Edward Duke.

WAKEFIELD, Mass. - Irene Wood Duly, 80, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at her home in Wakefield, Mass. She was a former resident of Booneville and a 1940 graduate of Booneville High School. She worked as a practical nurse until she retired.

Joann Fraser Dunahoo, 63, of Rienzi, died Monday, May 28, 2001, at the Quitman County Hospital in Marks after a brief illness.

Services were Wednesday, May 30, at 11 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Harold Smith and Bro. Dean Speed officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery.

Mrs. Dunahoo was a housewife and a member of Lakeview Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman and Ollie Shook Fraser.

She is survived by her husband, David Arther Dunahoo; three daughters, Brenda Pruitt and her husband, Paul, of Marks, Mary Lou Dunahoo of Rienzi and Connie Sue Dunahoo of Booneville; one son, Paul David Dunahoo and his wife, Theresa, of Rienzi; one sister, Kathy Eaton of Booneville; and two grandchildren, Jessica Pruitt and Robert Paul Dunahoo.

BLUFORD L. DUNAHUE

SKYLINE - Bluford L. Dunahue, 81, of the Skyline community, died Tuesday, Dec. 24, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1921, in Lee County to the late Andrew and Mary Etta Dunahue. He lived most of his adult life in the Skyline community. He and his wife lived in the Liberty community near Nettleton for two years before moving to Daniel Nursing Home in Fulton eight months ago. He worked for over 30 years at Mid South (Southern Belle) Packers. He was a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He enjoyed the outdoors, gardening, was a skilled handyman and loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mike Tucker officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Mable Landsdell Dunahue of Fulton; one son, Kenneth Dunahue and his wife, Rose, of Tupelo; six grandchildren, Lee Turner and his wife, Rachel, of Nettleton, Tiffany Kendrick and her husband, Tony, of Saltillo, Melinda Pignataro and her husband, Mario, of Southaven, Rosa Dunahue, Tommy Edwards and Kenneth Dunahue Jr., all of Tupelo; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lucille Kilpatrick of Baldwyn; several brothers-and sisters-in-law; his primary caregivers, David Lee and Rachel Turner.

He was preceded in death by one son, Thomas Dunahue; one daughter, Sarah Tucker; and several siblings.

REV. DONALD E. DUNAHUE

The Rev. Donald E. Dunahue, 49, of Michie, Tenn., died Wednesday, Dec. 20, 2000, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East.

Services were Friday, Dec. 22, at 1 p.m. at Wheeler Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Kara Blackard and the Rev. Robert Smith officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

The Rev. Dunahue was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church. He loved his family and friends and enjoyed helping others and preaching God's word. He was a Baptist minister for 28 years, an electrician and general handyman.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Lynn Frayser Dunahue of Michie, Tenn.; three sons, Tim Dunahue and his wife, Rhonda, Scott Dunahue and his wife, Jana, and Adam Dunahue and his wife, Jennifer, all of Booneville; his father, Gene Dunahue and his wife, Alberta, of Etta; his mother, Maureen Dye Dunahue of New Albany; a brother, James Dunahue and his wife, Patsy, of Myrtle; four grandchildren, Jennifer Dunahue, Tiffini Dunahue, Alexa Dunahue, and Erika Dunahue; his mother-in-law, Jewel Cranford of Memphis; and a brother-in-law, Jerry Frayser and his wife, Carolyn, of Ocean Springs.

HERMAN DUNAWAY

SALTILLO - Herman Dunaway, 68, died Wednesday, June 22, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. A native and longtime resident of Saltillo, he was the son of the late Joseph and Icie Elgin Dunaway. He was an employee of the maintenance department at Action Lane for the past 12 years. He was a member of the Light House Assembly of God in Saltillo. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending special time with his family and grandchildren.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Saltillo Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Roy Loftin officiating. Burial will be in Saltillo Cemetery.

MRS. AUDRA "VERONA" DUNCAN

Well Loved Matron Laid To Rest Sunday

Mrs. Audra "Verona" Duncan, wife of Thomas M. Duncan, died suddenly at her home Friday, about 6 o'clock of acute indigestion.  Mrs. Duncan was taken violently ill while she was milking and told her little five-year-old daughter to go for Mrs. Suggs, a close neighbor.  Mrs. Suggs and the doctor both arrived, but she lived only a little while after she was carried in the house.  Her husband was up town, and her son, Ralph, was in Tupelo at the time.  Those who rushed in commented on the little five-year-old Diane giving them the telephone number to call a sister in Montgomery, AL. and told where her oldest brother and wife lived. 

Mrs. Duncan was a member of the Belmont Baptist Church and had been since early in life.  She lived true to her church vows and made friends with those she came in contact.  Had she lived until March 15, she would have been 43 years of age July 6th 1926, she was married to Thomas M. Duncan, and to this union, four children were born Thomas M. Duncan Jr., Goodwin, Miss Wynoka Duncan, Montgomery, AL; Ralph and Diane of Belmont.  Besides her children she is survived by her husband, Thomas M. Duncan, her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Zeff W. Deaton, Saltillo, MS; two sisters, Mrs. Luther T. Gahagan (Amy), Bruce, MS, and Mrs. W. April Livingston (Verda Maye), Florence, AL; one grandson, Thomas M. Duncan III.

Her funeral was held at the Baptist Church Sunday afternoon at 2:30, conducted by Rev. Joe Hughes, a former pastor of Phil Campbell, AL, and Rev. John L. Hallmark of Sheffield, AL, a long time friend of the family.  Rev. Hughes and Rev. Hallmark paid beautiful tributes of love and respect of the deceased.  Rev. L. C. Riley had charge of the singing.  The spacious auditorium would not accommodate the host of friends who called to pay their final respect to one they loved.  Floral offerings were banked in the church, later blanketing her final resting place. 

Burial was in Belmont City Cemetery with Deaton Funeral Directors in charge.  The active pallbearers were Etha Mann, S. S. Strickland, A. B. Campbell, D. F. Lambert Sr., Olen Yarber, and Raymond Yarber.  Honorary pallbearers were Henry Yarber, J. C. Taylor and S. L. Suggs.

CECIL DUNCAN

Cecil Duncan, 84, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 2004, at the Care Center of Red Bay, Ala. He was born Feb. 10, 1920, to Talmage and Artie Ledbetter Duncan. He retired from Eaton Axle Division in Cleveland, Ohio, after 10 years. He attended the Baptist Church in Cleveland, Ohio.

Services were at 1 p.m. Thursday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala., with Bro. David Kelly officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Dorothy Duncan of Red Bay; a grandson, Copeland Woodruff; two sisters, Earlene Skiles and husband, Presley, of Houston, Texas, and Ima Jeanne Payne and husband, Lewis, of Golden; two brothers, Webster Duncan of Houston, Texas, and Eugene Duncan and wife, Vicky, of Belleview, Mich.; three stepdaughters, Macel Bohannon and husband, Loyd, of Dyersburg, Tenn., and Melissa Readence and Phylis Quinonus, both of Cleveland, Ohio; nine step-grandchildren, Nicole, George, Jason, Jazzman, Ariana, Julie, Timmy, Jeff and Crystal; many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Anne and Jack Woodruff; two sisters, Margie Duncan and Gladys Duncan; and three brothers, Lois Duncan, A.T. Duncan Jr. and Sanders Duncan.

RIENZI - Juanita Bragg Duncan, 81, died Wednesday, June 8, 2005, at her home. She was a retired employee of the garment industry and a member of Hinkle Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing and gardening.

Mrs. Edith Faye Dulaney Duncan, 77, died Saturday, March 5, at the Itawamba County Hospital.  She was a retired homemaker and a member of Belmont First Baptist Church.

Heavenlie Grace Duncan. 14 days, died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2002, at North MS Medical Center.

JOHN R. DUNCAN

MEMPHIS - John R. Duncan, 61, died Saturday, June 26, 2004, at Baptist East Hospital in Memphis. He was born in Kossuth to the late George Edward and Illa Rogers Duncan. He lived most of his adult life in Memphis and was retired from the City of Memphis Public Works Department with 20 years service. He was a member of the Tate Baptist Church of Christ.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with the Rev. Pete Wooley officiating. Burial will be in the Lone Oak Cemetery in Corinth.

Survivors include three aunts, Bettye Rogers Smith of Memphis, Ruth Leird of Atoka, Tenn., and Ruth Galyean of Corinth; one uncle, Billy H. Rogers of Cordova, Tenn.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Glenda Duncan.

CORINTH - Johnnie W. Duncan, 59, died Saturday, Aug. 23, 2003, at his residence. He was a member of the Wheeler Grove Baptist Church and retired as a construction worker.

JOEY DUNCAN

RIPLEY - Joseph Cameron "Joey" Duncan, 17, died Saturday, Oct. 9, 2004, at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley following a long illness. He was born Oct. 22, 1986, in Berwyn, Ill., the son of Charlie and Polly Duncan. He was born with cerebral palsy and a severe seizure disorder; he later developed osteoporosis, scoliosis, gastric shutdown and other complications. He also underwent many surgical procedures. Never able to walk, talk, feed himself or care for himself in any way, he was bedridden all of his life, yet he was able to smile and laugh. He truly was an inspiration to everyone who know him. He was a member of the North Mississippi Special Needs Arc and the Arc of Mississippi.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Ray Vuncannon officiating. Burial will be in Box's Chapel Cemetery in Tippah County.

Survivors include his parents, Charlie and Polly Duncan; a sister, Amber Renee Duncan of Ripley; a brother, Glynn Duncan of Ripley; his grandparents, B. TOM DUNCAN

BELMONT - Thomas McCrory Duncan Sr., 89, died Thursday, January 7, 1988, at the Red Bay Hospital.  He was born in Pogo, A, to George W. Duncan and Mary Lillie Winchester Duncan.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Belmont.  He was a retired school teacher, teaching for 30 years in Tishomingo County and served eight years as tax assessor of Tishomingo County.  He also served four years in the state Legislature.

Services were held at 2 P. M. Sunday at the first Baptist Church of Belmont.  The Rev. Jack Maroon and the Rev. Albert Hamilton officiated.  Burial was in the Belmont City Cemetery.  Deaton Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Fay Dulaney Duncan of Belmont; two daughters, Wynoka Martin of Barstow, CA, and Diane Webber of Bethel, CT; two sons, Thomas M. Duncan Jr. of Canton, MS and Ralph Duncan of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Verona Deaton Duncan, his parents, and sister, Mollie Ann Petree Hedberg.

HOLLIS DUNCAN

BOONEVILLE - William Hollis Duncan, 90, died Friday, March 18, 2005, at Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. He was born Oct. 11, 1914, in Prentiss County to William Oscar Duncan and Ona B. Burcham Duncan. He was a Pentecostal and a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was a retired farmer and sawmiller. He enjoyed gardening, going to the senior citizens center, visiting old home places and his dogs, Joe and Bob. He was a fiddle player and a self taught Bible student.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Larry Marshall officiating. Burial will be in the Jacinto Cemetery.

Survivors include is wife of 30 years, Dorothy Grooms Duncan; a daughter, Bettye Johnson and her husband, Jackie, of Booneville; three sons, Truman Duncan and his wife, Lula of Rienzi, Gerald Duncan of Florence, Ala., and Johnny Duncan and his wife, Joyce, of Booneville; a sister, Esta Bethay of Booneville; two stepsons, Jimmy Penny and his wife, Jane, of McMinnville, Tenn., and Johnny Scott and his wife, Rose, of Corinth; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren.

NEW SITE - Christine Harri Dunn, 69, died Friday, April 25, 1997, at Webster Health Services in Eupora, died after an extended illness. She was a member of Little Brown Missionary Baptist Church. She was a ember of Little Brown Missionary. Baptist Church. She was a native of New Site and lived in West Point for the past six years. She was the widow of Oliver Lester "Shorty" Dunn. She was retired.

GLEN - Donald Ray Dunn, 69, died Saturday, July 30, 2005, at his home. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam conflict and a member of the American Legion. CORINTH – Edna Lou Dunn, 87, died Wednesday, May 12, 2004, at her home. She was born Sept. 12, 1916, in Alcorn County to Clifford and Pinkie Dees Plaxico. She was a homemaker and a retired employee of the Corinth School System. She was a member of Kendrick Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at Kendrick Baptist Church with the Rev. Tim Wood officiating. Burial will be in Wheeler Grove Baptist Church Cemetery. Corinthian Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Services for John Tyson "J. T." Dunn were Saturday at the W. E. Pegues Jefferson Street Chapel with the Rev. Terry Ledbetter officiating.

Dunn. 81, died Dec. 13, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness.

He was horn Oct. 29, 1920, in Lee County to John William and Jenny Merchant Dunn.

Lie was a lifelong resident of Tupelo. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a truck driver for Mid-South Packers, retiring after 45 years. He was a member of East Heights Baptist Church. He was an avid vegetable gardener and, in his earlier years. lie enjoyed hunting and fishing.

Survivors include a daughter, Sylvia Shirley of Tupelo; a brother, James Russell Dunn of Cabot, Ark.; six grandchildren, Mike Shirley and his wife, Katcri, of Garland, Texas, Kim Maxwell and her husband, Kevin, Chris Shirley, Jody Shirley, John Shirley and Brandon Shirley, all of Tupelo; foul great-grandchildren, Chad Shirley, Brittany Shirley, Hayley Maxwell and Harrison Maxwell.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Clydie Campbell Dunn, on July 19, 1997; hip parents: two sisters, Occol Meador and Mary Agnes Scruggs; and a brother, Rawdor Dunn.

BOONEVILLE - Juanita Dunn, 82, died Thursday, May 27, 2004, at her home after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of the Mt. Pisgah Freewill Baptist Church. She loved fishing, cooking, gardening and flowers.

OXFORD - Lorene Liles Dunn, 77, died Thursday, June 5, 2003, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was a member of the Trinity Baptist Church in Oxford.

OREN FRANCIS DUNN

Oren Francis Dunn, founder and curator of Tupelo City Museum, died Sunday at the North Mississippi Medical Center after suffering a heart attack more than a week ago. "Friends and city leaders lauded the contribution he made in creating the museum and guiding its growth to a large complex with collections that ranged from prehistoric times to the space age.

"It's just incumbent on the city as a governmental entity, and on each individual citizen, to make sure that the museum continues as the fine place he established."

Gen. Sam Fleming, executive director of Tupelo Convention and Visitors Bureau, said the community would miss Dunn, who had given so much in the quiet way of an unsung hero.

Fleming talked about the value of the museum both as a tourist attraction and a place for local people to enjoy and especially stressed the educational opportunities it afforded to schoolchildren from all around the Tupelo area who toured the facility.

Not only am I going to miss him, but people, the community as a whole, will miss him. I've lost a dear friend," Fleming said.

He's done so much for Tupelo. He's been special. He has played on the team, always concerned with giving credit to other people.

His time and efforts and energy have gone to the betterment of anyone who's been associated with him," Fleming said.

Since it opened in 1984, the museum has drawn thousands of students each year on class tours, and Dunn was particularly interested in children and in teaching them local history.

A native of Coweta, Okla., Dunn attended Northeastern Oklahoma University and the University of Southern California. He moved to Tnpelo in 1972, having retired from the Northrop Aircraft Co., after 30 years in the aircraft industry. He worked for Hancock Textile Co., before retiring again in 1983.

He received honors for his civic contributions from the Sons of the American Revolution and from the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

Dunn approached Tupelo city officials in 1983 and proposed housing a museum in existing buildings at what is now Ballard Park. He asked for a salary of $1 a year, which he said would make his job legal, and went to work.

The museum opened in 1984, and has grown into an extensive complex, with the largest and most diverse collections in the state. Until the day he entered the hospital, Dunn continued to work at the museum - leading tours, enlisting volunteers, designing displays, and planning new exhibits.

'Dudie's Diner, a landmark from Crosstown, was one of the most -recent acquisitions to be opened to the public. In his latest project, Dunn was negotiating to bring an antique cotton press to the museum grounds.

Services for Dunn will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Lee Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Sammy Simpson officiating. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the ftmeral home.

CORINTH - Willie Mai Durm, 79, died Monday, March 31, 2003, at her home after a long illness. She was born Dec. 8, 1923, in Tullahoma, Tenn., to Fritz Poe Sr. and Callie Muse Poe. She married Douglas Durm on July 27, 1946, in Rossville, Ga. They lived in Pecos, Texas, and in Corinth, where they were the owners of Durm's Office Machines. She joined Colonial Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas, in 1947. She was currently a member of the First Baptist Church of Corinth. She joined the Order of the Eastern Star in Pecos, Texas, in 1949. She had been a member of the Corinth Chapter No. 27 Order of the Eastern Star for the last 40 years. She held many offices and received many honors.

CORINTH - Leonard "Penny" Dyson, 71, died Friday, May 14, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Medical Center. He was a retired purchaser for Quartet Corp. He was a graduate of Corinth High School and served in the U.S. Army in Korea and Japan. He was a member of the Holly Baptist Church and the American Legion. He loved his family and enjoyed his church, baseball and the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife, Maurice Cornelius Dyson of Corinth; one son, Dale Keith Dyson and wife, Rita, of Corinth; two brothers, H.D. Dyson and wife, Joyce, of Amarillo, Texas, and Billy Wayne Dyson and wife, Doris, of Corinth; two sisters, Lila Poindexter of Glen and Ada Lee Jones of Corinth; two grandchildren, Hope McDonald of Manning, S.C., and husband, Sr. Chief Petty Officer Mark McDonald, serving in Iraq, and Rachel Sobota and husband, Steve, of Cordova, Tenn.; two great-grandchildren, Megan McDonald and Noah Mc Donald.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herschel B. and Nicie Hamilton Dyson; and two brothers, Gilbert Dyson and James Dyson.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Earline Houston Dyson, 82, died Tuesday, Aug 24, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was

member of Grace Baptist Church in Nashville, and was married t( Martin Lee Murdock who preceded her in death.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today a McMillan Funeral Home Chapel wilt burial in Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include one daughter Connie Clanton and husband, Dee of Concord, N. H.; one son. Tot Murdock and wife, Repay, o Nashville; six sisters, Myrtle Stephens of Tupelo, Trecia; Cartwright, Syble Tollison and Lee Barron, all of Booneville, Ila Wilmoth of Helena, Ala., and Carolyn Montgomery of Pearl; three grandchildren. Tammye Harbor Martye Gregg and Natalie Clanton and two great‑grandchildren, Bran don and Geoffrey Harbor.

Visitation will be held until service time today.

LARRY DYSON

CORINTH - Larry Dewayne "Strang" Dyson, 49, died Monday, April 5, 2004, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a former brick mason and disabled. He was a Baptist.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coleman-Family Chapel with Bro. Ricky Willis and Bro. Malcolm Garrett officiating. Burial will be in the Vanderford Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Becky Morrow Dyson of Corinth; his parents, Larry Joe and Delores Faye Gilliam Dyson of Corinth; two daughters, Tabitha White and husband, Tony, of Corinth, Tracy Rowe and husband, Joseph, of Fort Smith, Ark.; three sisters, Debra Comte and husband, Patrick, of Nashville, Carolyn Phillips and husband, Billy Joe, of Kossuth, and Patricia Jones and husband, Steven, of Olive Branch; two brothers, Michael E. Dyson and fiancee, Jeannie Gray, and Darrell Dyson, all of Corinth; two grandchildren, Shaianne White and Trey White of Corinth.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Joe Dyson; and his grandparents, William Robert and Tomy E. Gilliam, and Robert and Illa V. Dyson.

Pallbearers will be Justin Jones, Barry Hickman, Daniel Burcham, Michael Comte, Bill Meeks, David Burcham, Ron Oliver and Keith Barnes.
