CORINTH - Lurlie H. Smith Eads, 89, died Wednesday, Aug. 3, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was a retired employee of Garan Manufacturing and a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Coleman Family Chapel with Bro. John Cook officiating. Burial will be in Dogwood Cemetery.

Survivors include a daughter, Doris Dyson and husband, Billy, of Corinth; three sisters, Icie Steen and Opal Hyneman, both of Corinth, and Lavern Klam of Walnut; two grandchildren, Bret Dyson of Corinth, and Todd Dyson and wife, Sandy, of Ethelsville, Ala.; two great-grandchildren, Allie and Dusty Dyson of Ethelsville, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rubin Eads; a daughter, Jo Ann Hammet; a granddaughter, Angie Hammet; her parents, Newton and Leaner Rickett Smith; and three sisters and six brothers.

MRS. IMOGENE BYNUM EAKER

Mrs. Imogene Bynum Eaker, 59, of 1207 N. College St., Booneville, died Friday, Dec. 20, 1985, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.

Services were Sunday, Dec. 22, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Bill Duncan officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery:

Mrs. Eaker was a teacher and program director and a member of the First Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband, W. C. Eaker; a son, Bill Eaker of. the home; a daughter, Beth Eaker of the home; and two brothers, J. G. Bynum Jr. of New Carlisle, Ohio, and Dr. James W. Bynum of St. Louis, Mo.

PATRICK K. EAKINS

BOONEVILLE - Patrick K. Eakins, 54, died Wednesday, April 16, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a U. S. Navy veteran with service in Vietnam. He was active in the American Legion.

A memorial service will be held Monday at the Gulfport Naval Base. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Joyce Eakins of Booneville; his mother, Evelyn Eakins of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; three sons, Darryl Eakins of Colorado, Patrick Eakins of Nevada and Michael Eakins of Virginia; two stepdaughters, Billie Hartman of Biloxi and Brenda Hutcheson of Booneville; three stepsons, James Henderson of Booneville, Kenneth Henderson of Wheeler and Steve Henderson of Long Beach; two sisters, Janice Glasson of Stuart, Fla., and Glenda Mullins of Alpharetta, Ga.; a brother, Larry Eakins of Detroit, Mich.

He was preceded in death by his father, William Eakins.

FRANK EARNEST

RIENZI - Frank Earnest, 82, died Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a member and deacon at Pleasant Grove Church of Rienzi. He was a self-employed construction worker and a well-known concrete finisher. He especially enjoyed working.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pleasant Grove Church of Rienzi with the Rev. Leroy Harris officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Services of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Nellie C. Earnest; a stepson, Glarry Dickey of Rienzi; a stepdaughter, Orber Della Dye and husband, James, of Rienzi; a sister, Bert Bush of Denver, Colo.; seven stepgrandchildren; one stepgreat-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Will and Polly Earnest; four sisters, Elmer Bynum, Veda Boone, Ester Wells and Hosana Baker; three brothers, Jack Earnest, Will Ed Earnest and John Quincy Earnest; a special niece, Ilene Davis; a stepdaughter, Vircy Shumpert; a nephew, Wiillie Wells.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

SUSIE EARNEST

MANTACHIE ‑Susie Mae Earnest, 83, died Sunday, May 21, 2000, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born July 23, 1916, to Joseph and Jeans Sims. She was a longstanding, active member of First Baptist Church in Mantachie, where she was a Sunday school teacher and a member of WMA, She received her bachelors of science degree from Mississippi State University in 1947 and her master's degree of education m 1951. She was a teacher at Mantachie and Mooreville High Schools and was department chair of English at Itawamba Community College for 23 years. She was an active participant in several civic organization.

She was instrumental in getting the first Pilot Club for Mantachie and served as charter president m 1969‑70. She served as president again in 1977‑78 and held numerous other offices in the local, district and international levels. She was a longtime member of the Itawamba County Homemakers and a correspondent for the Itawamba County Times. In the DAR, she was serving as chaplain and helping to organize a district meeting in July. The Itawamba County Historical Society was a great love of hers, and she served as a director of the board there.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church in Mantachie with Dr. J. E. Sims and the Rev. Andy Neal officiating. Burial will be in Center Star Cemetery. McNeece‑Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in change of the arrangements. Survivors include one daughter, Betty Barnes and her husband. Joe, of Mantachie; one son, Joseph Earnest and his wife, Bettye. of Mantachie; four grandsons, Edward Earnest and his wife, Carolyn, of Mantachie, Greg Barnes and his wife, Sue, of Brookfield, Ill., Gary Barnes and his wife, Nancy, of LaGrange. Ill., and Glen Barnes and his wife, Joy, of MI. Home AFB, Ind.: eight great‑grandchildren. Nikki, Betsy, Will, David, J. D., Tom, Andy and Ben Barnes; three step grandchildren, June Erickson of Madisonville, Ky., Curt Wesson and his wife, Susan, of Columbia, S. C., and Gina Wesson of Mantachie; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, All L. Earnest, who died in 1989; and three brothers, Loyse, Bernard and Yancy Sims.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great‑grandsons. Visitation will be from 4 until 9 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Mantachie, or the Itawamba County Historic Society.

JAMES L. EASLEY

CORINTH - James L. Easley, 81, died Wednesday, June 15, 2005, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II. He worked for U.S. Steel in Indiana for 28 years. After retiring, he returned to Corinth.

A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today at Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery with Bro. Ron Metlock officiating. McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include three brothers, Marvin A. Easley, Tommy G. Easley and wife, Alice, and Don A. Easley, all of Corinth; a sister, Robbie G. Rogers of Corinth; nieces and nephews, Carl Easley, Mark Easley, Bryan Easley, Misty Easley, Gary Rogers, Dennis Rogers, Steve Rogers and Jan Rogers Vandiver.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Bessie Easley; a brother, Louie Easley; and a nephew, Terry G. Easley.

ELLIS EASTERLING

Ellis Rupert Easterling, 84, died Sunday, Aug. 10, 2003, at the Miss. State Veterans Home in Oxford after an extended illness. In 1942, after attending Louisiana State University, he withdrew to complete his flight training at the Naval Sir Station, Pensacola, Fla. In March of 1942, he was awarded the coveted Gold Wings of a Naval Aviator. He went to the South Pacific where he flew many air/sea rescue missions in the PBY Catalina Flying Boat and was awarded the Navy Cross. At the completion of World War II he continued his career in the Naval Reserves, one of the few to be selected to command two aviation squadrons. He retired from the Reserves in 1977, having attained the rank of Captain.

His civilian career field was sales. He began at a very young age, when you just had to hold the reins to drive. After World War II, he joined ASG Glass Inc. and stayed with the company until his retirement in 1977 from the position as Director of Marketing. His hobbies included operating ham radio equipment and building additions to his home.

Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Baldwyn Masonic Cemetery with Bro. Bryan Collier officiating. Waters Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include five daughters, Midge Kastonos of Gulf Breeze, Fla., Lynn Cushing of Villa Park, Ill., Liz Henkemeyer of San Angelo, Texas, Miki Tedesco of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Charlie Guest of Tupelo; one son, Bob Easterling of Jackson, Tenn.; one sister, Marguerite McNeal of Shreveport, La.; one half-brother, David Morris of Houston, Texas; 14 grandchildren; one great-grandson.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 40 years, Ruby P. Easterling.

DENSON EASTMAN

SULLIGENT, Ala. — Denson "Dick" Eastman, 82, died Friday, Sept. 10, 1999, in Winfield, Ala. He was born July 2, 1917, to the late Mary Louanna Gibbs and William Garland Eastman. He was a Freewill Baptist. He was a carpenter and served in the U. S. Army during World War II.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Otts Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Edward Puckett. Burial will be in Pope Cemetery.

Survivors include two brothers, Manin Eastman of Haleyville, Ala., Alberton Eastman of Guin, Ala.; one sister, Dora Bell Hulsey of Sulligent; several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Demp Eastman and Earhi Martin "Doc" Eastman.

Ewell L. Hatfield, 86, of Booneville, died Thursday, Oct. 24, 1996, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.

Services were Saturday, Oct. 26, at 10 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Smith and the Rev. Ben Parman officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Mr. Hatfield was a farmer, a member of Thrasher Baptist Church and a Mason. He was the widower of Ludie V. Hatfield.

He is survived by one son, Willie Hatfield of Thrasher.

A. C. EATON

BOONEVILLE - A. C. Eaton, 76, died Tuesday, July 1, 1997, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born April 22, 1921, to Oscar and Ovie Bell Eaton. He married Lorene Pound on May 15,1937. They had recently celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary. He was the retired postmaster at the New Site Post Office after 41 years of service. He was a veteran of World War II. He was a member of the Booneville Church of Christ, where he was a former deacon, director of the visitation program and a Sunday School teacher. He enjoyed doing special things for his grandchildren and reading the Bible.

Services were at 2 p.m. Thursday at Salts Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Doug Greenway and Minister J. A. Thornton officiating. Burial was in the Booneville Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Lorene Eaton of Booneville; two sons, Rick Eaton and his wife, Sue, of Hendersonville, Tenn., and Dr. Jim Eaton and his wife, Pam, of Benton, Ark.; two sisters, Launzada Carr of Dennis and Clura Dailey of Jasper, Ala.; three grandchildren, Tate Eaton, Amanda Eaton and Sarah Eaton.

Deacons of the Booneville Church of Christ were pallbearers.

Benny D. Eaton, 42, of Jumpertown, died Friday, Sept. 28, 2001, at his home after an extended illness.

Services were Saturday, Sept. 29, at 3 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rayburn Richardson and Bro. Pete Wooley officiating. Burial was in Jumpertown Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was preceded in death by his parents, Hurshel and Marine Eaton; and one nephew.

He is survived by one daughter, Brianna Eaton of the home; four sisters, Jean Linville and her husband, Billy, of Corinth, Carolyn Elliott and her husband. Bill, of Jumpertown, and Diane Gray and her husband, Larry, and Sherry Hughes, and her husband, Mike, all of Marietta; four nieces; three nephews; four great-nieces and three great-nephews.

BESSIE EATON

JUMPERTOWN ‑ Bessie Eaton, 89, died Wednesday, May 26, 1999, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Jumpertown Methodist Church. She was a member of the UMW and the Home Demonstration Club. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver Eaton; one son, Hugh Donald Eaton, two brothers, William Garrett and Bythel Garrett.

BOONEVILLE - Cecil Eugene Eaton, 82, died Friday, Sept. 17, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and a retired employee of Plumrose. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of Carolina United Methodist Church.

Services will be at 5 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Danny Minnix and Bro. Frank Millender officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include his wife, Vista Windham Eaton; two daughters, Betty McVey and husband, Billy Joe, of Booneville, and Vicky Palmer of Corinth; a son, Billy Cecil Eaton and wife, Neita, of Booneville; nine grandchildren, Mack Hare, Rick Hare, Lisa Worsham, Breanna Palmer, Ashlea Rhodes, Cashyn Palmer, Suzanne Burcham, Leslie Bullard and Bart Eaton; 14 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Deena Eaton.

Charles William Eaton, 69, of Booneville, died Thursday, May 17, 2001, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after a sudden illness.

Services were Saturday, May 19, at 3:30 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete Wooley and Bro. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial was in Jumpertown Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was a retired farmer. He attended Jumpertown Methodist Church. He loved fishing and gardening.

He is survived by two daughters, Pam Austin and her husband, Floyd, of Corinth, and Marti Green and her husband, Terry, of Booneville; two sisters, Helen Johnson of Jumpertown and Cindy Woodruff of Iuka; one brother, Louie Eaton of Jumpertown; six grandchildren, Jennifer Michael, Joanna Dawson, Tara Lauderdale, Buzz Michael, Jason Michael and Shane Green; seven great-grandchildren; and a special friend, Dorlis Eaton.

Pallbearers were Buzz Michael, Jason Michael, Shane Green, Kyle English, Craig Lauderdale, Johnny Johnson, Benny Eaton and Billy Dawson. Honorary pallbearers were Whim Green, K. B. CLARA EATON

BOONEVILLE - Clara Faye Morgan Eaton, 70, died Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-East in Memphis after a brief illness. She was a member of the Kendrick Full Gospel Tabernacle Church. She was employed as a packer for Morgan Moving for more than 25 years.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Raymond Earl Hisaw and Bro. Dewayne Wells officiating. Burial will be in Antioch No. 2 Cemetery.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Herman Eaton; a daughter, Wanda Faye Eaton Bridges; two sons, Billy Dewayne Eaton and Doyle Eaton; four sisters; five brothers; three grandchildren, Billy Leon Bridges, Billy Jack Eaton and Jason Doyle Eaton.

JUMPERTOWN - Doris Eaton, 70, died Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2004 of a brief illness at Booneville Baptist Memorial Hospital. She was retired. She was a member of Antioch No. 2 Baptist Church. She was preceeded in death by her parents, Richard and Mattie Thorne; one son, Ricky Padgett; two brothers, William and Rodney Thorne; and one granddaughter, Sonya Prentiss.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Oaklawn Memorial Park. Bro. Greg Warren and Bro. Jeff Thorn will officiate.

GOLDSBORO, N.C. - Earnest Gene Eaton, 60, died Wednesday, March 2, 2005, at the Pitt County Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Oak Forest Church of Christ. He was a graduate of Easom High School where he lettered in football; he attended the University of Illinois. He was a retired Master Sergeant of the U.S. Air Force and was a volunteer driver for disabled veterans (DAV). He had been a resident of Goldsboro, N.C. for the past 14 years since leaving Upper Heyford, England.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Macedonia M.B. Church with Bro. Tommy Morrison officiating. Burial will be in the Corinth National Cemetery. Grayson Funeral Services is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Davis Eaton of Goldsboro, N.C.; one son, Timothy (Rowena) Eaton, of Japan; one daughter, Dionca (Robert) Okwara of Raleigh, N.C.; two brothers, Edward (Vivian) Eaton and James (Latisha) Eaton, all of Orlando, Fla.; four sisters, Jacqueline Davis and Annie Morrison Chappell, both of Corinth, Barbara (Marvin) Jackson, of Rialto, Calif., and Mary (Herbert) Weatherall of Rienzi; four grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

EUGENE "GENE" EATON

Eugene Watson "Gene" Eaton, 7l, of Northlake, Ill., died Sunday, Dec. 31, 2000, at Gottlieb Memorial Hospital in Melrose, Ill., after an extended illness.

Services were Wednesday. Jan. 3, 2001, at 11 a.m. at Northlake Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Glen Oak Cemetery. Mr. Eaton was a retired truck driver.

He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Dorothy; a daughter, Dorothy Jean Eaton of Northlake, Ill.; a son, Jeffery Craig Eaton of Hampshire, Ill.; a brother, Edward Eaton of Booneville; three sisters, Velma English, and Remice Bridges, both of Booneville and Louise Robinson of Rienzi.

FLAKE EATON

BOONEVILLE R. Flake Eaton, 93, died Thursday, Feb. 12, 1998, at Booneville Baptist Memorial Hospital. A retired farmer, he was a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Mobley and the Rev. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

He is survived by his wife, Lois Eaton; three daughters, Elizabeth Gann of Booneville, Myrtle Smith of Blackland and Nita Craft of Jackson;

five sons, Hollis Eaton of Tupelo, Dan Eaton of Blackland, Rhett Eaton of Booneville, Bonnard Eaton of Biggersville and D. Hoyle Eaton of Osborne Creek; 21 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Sarah Hampton, and two sons, John K. Eaton and Howard Eaton.

The grandsons will serve as pallbearers, and the great-grandsons will serve as honorary pallbearers.

Terry Getty, Eaton, 83, of Marietta, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, al the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.

Services were Thursday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. al McMillan Funeral Home Chapel Tony Brown and Mike Eaton officiating. Burial was in Zion Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was a member of Zion Rest Church of Christ. He was retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department and also a farmer. He was a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 60.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Gracie Eaton: and two sisters, Dallie Eaton and Winona Newby.

He is survived by his, wife of 62 years, Lore Goddard Eaton, one daughter, Ouida Powell of Booneville; three sons, Harold Forum and his wife. Martha, of Booneville, Larry Eaton and his wife, Kay, and Randy Eaton and his wife, Donna all of Marietta; one sister, Charlene Stroup, of Jumpertown: seven grandchildren and five great‑grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Gracie Eaton, 101, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1399, at Longwood Manor in Booneville after a illness. She was a homemaker member of Jumpertown Church of Christ. Services will be at 1 P. M. JUMPERTOWN - J. Hoyle Eaton, 74, died Thursday, Jan. 13, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a long illness. He was a retired farmer and a Methodist. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, and being with his friends and family.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Jumpertown Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Teenie Ketchum Eaton; a daughter, Debra Starling and husband, Jerry, of Jumpertown; a son, Benny Eaton and wife, Renate, of Jumpertown; a sister, Ara Jumper and husband, Bill, of Jumpertown; a brother-in-law, J.W. He was preceded in death by his parents, Oliver and Bessie Eaton, and a brother, Hugh Donald Eaton.

Jason Doyle Eaton, 28, of Rienzi, died Saturday, Sept. 8, 2001, as the result of an auto accident in Alcorn County.

Services were Monday, Sept. 10, at 1 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Cliff Cartwright officiating. Burial was in Antioch #2 Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was employed at Marathon Cheese. He was a talented musician and enjoyed playing music with his friends and relatives. He was a member of the Knight Crew in Mississippi Chat Room. He was preceded in death by his father, Doyle Eaton.

He is survived by one son, Casey Jason Eaton of Plant City, Fla.; a daughter, Holly Parker of Plant City, Fla.; his mother, Janet Rowe of Rienzi; his grandparents, Clara Eaton of Booneville, Lucy Osborne of Rienzi and Ray and Rosie Rowe of Slate, Va.; two sisters, Rachel Eaton Downs and her husband, Brad, of New Site and Priscilla Eaton of Corinth; and a host of other relatives.

Pallbearers were Jackie Eaton, James Ray Bridges, David Godwin, Max Hall, Buck Rowe and Bobo Eaton.

BOONEVILLE - Lois Eaton, 94, died Thursday, Oct. 3, 2002, at the Baldwyn Nursing Facility after a long illness. She was a homemaker and a member of Oak Hill Baptist Church. She enjoyed sewing, cooking and caring for her family.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Dan Mobley and Bro. Mark Cagle officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

Survivors include two daughters, Nita Craft and her husband, James, of Mize, and Myrtle Smith and her husband, John David, of Booneville; three sons, D. She was preceded in death by her husband of 74 years, Flake Eaton; two daughters, Sara Hampton and Elizabeth Gann; and four sons, Howard, John K., Hollis and Rhett Eaton.

JUMPERTOWN – Louie Eaton, 70, died Sunday, Oct. 24, 2004, at his home after an extended illness. He was a retired farmer and a Baptist. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, Bluegrass music and decorating his yard for Christmas.

Mercle Eaton, 101, died Thursday, Dec. 16, 1999, at Longwood Manor in Booneville

Mrs. Eaton was a housewife and a member of Jumpertown Church of Christ. She as preceded in death by her husband, Clovis Eaton; and two nuns Newby and Dallie Mae Eaton.

She is survived by one daughter, Charlene Stroupe and her husband, Jumpertown; one son, Gettys Eaton and his wife, Lora, of Marietta and eight grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven great-great children, and a special friend and caregiver, Robin Eckert.

Noel Eugene Eaton, 71, of Pisgah, died Wednesday. April 3, 2002, at his home after a brief illness.

Services were Saturday, April 6, at 1 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Pete Wooley officiating. Burial was in Antioch #2 Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was retired from Crown Stove and a member of the Antioch #2 Baptist Church. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chub and Addie Eaton; two sisters, Louvenia Johnson and Veona Goner; five brothers, Frank Eaton, Willie Lee Eaton, Grady Eaton, Jewell Eaton and Herman Eaton; and a stepson, Earnie Parker.

He is survived by two step-daughters, Diane Holley of Booneville and Pat Parker Braddock of Corinth; one stepson, Tommy Parker of Huntsville, Ala., one sister, Mary Hardin and her husband, J. E. of Pisgah: two sisters-in-law, Tula Mac Eaton of Rienzi and Clara Faye Eaton of Booneville; and a host of nieces and nephews.

CORINTH - Nonan Bill Eaton, 31, died Friday, July 8, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. He was an employee of Booneville Upholstery and a member of the Church of Christ. An avid Ole Miss fan, he loved his children, horses, fishing and painting.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Rhett Butler Eaton, 58, died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 1999, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness, He owned and operated Eaton Paperboard for 24 years. He also owner Eaton Stables. He was a member of Christ Untied Methodist Church. He was a 32nd degree Mason and Shriner, and a member of the American Legion. He had served in the Army National Guard and on the Tenn‑Tom Waterway Authority Board.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dan Mobley and the Rev. Randy Owen officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.

SAMUEL RUEY EATON

Samuel Ruey Eaton, 69, died Tuesday, March 18, at the home of Bud Eaton, following a brief illness.

Eaton was a retired businessman and a member of the Methodist Church. He served the town of Jumpertown as its first mayor when the Prentiss County town was first incorporated and later served as a town alderman.

He was the author of one book, entitled "In Prison and Out," which described his experiences in the state prison at Parchman and in three federal prisons.

In August of 1931 Eaton and his brother, Clovis, were found guilty in the Circuit Court of Prentiss County of murdering U. S. marshal Clyde Rivers.

Ruey Eaton spend time in Parchman prison, escaped and eluded the law officers for several months by hiding out in and around Prentiss County. After his recapture, he served time in federal prisons in Leavenworth, Atlanta and on Alcatraz Island.

At Alcatraz Eaton met such infamous criminals as Machine Gun Kelly, and Doc Barber. He also shared a cell for a brief time with

GETTYS EATON

Terry Gettys Eaton, 83, of Marietta, died Wednesday, Jan. 17, 2001, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness.

Services were Thursday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Tony Brown and Mike Eaton officiating. Burial was in Zion Rest Cemetery.

Mr. Eaton was a member of Zion Rest Church of Christ. He was retired from the Mississippi State Highway Department and also a farmer. He was a member of Woodmen of the World Lodge 60.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clovis and Gracie Eaton; and two sisters, Dallie Eaton and Winona Newby.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lora Goddard Eaton; one daughter, Ouida Powell of Booneville; three sons, Harold Eaton and his wife, Martha, of Booneville, Larry Eaton and his wife, Kay, and Randy Eaton and his wife, Donna. all of Marietta; one sister, Charlene Stroupe of Jumpertown; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

TULER MAE EATON

CORINTH - Tuler Mae Eaton, 85, died Thursday, Jan. 15, 2004, at the Tupelo Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a homemaker.

Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Coleman Family Chapel with Bro. Russell Hamm officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch No. 2 Cemetery in Prentiss County.

Survivors include four daughters, Beatrice Prince and her husband, Charles, of Lawrenceburg, Tenn., Shirley Dillinger of West Helena, Ark., Nora Chambers of Booneville and Mary Tice of Saltillo; 11 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Virginia Wagner; her husband, Frank Eaton; and one son, Raymond Wagner.

RIPLEY - Tyra Junior "Boone" Eaton, 80, died Monday, Sept. 16, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a farmer. He was a U. S. Navy veteran, serving in the Pacific during World War II. He was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rolland and Lily Little Eaton; two brothers; and three sisters.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with the Rev. Larry Creel officiating, with a tribute given by Mr. Fred Smith. Burial will be in the Tippah Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

RIENZI - The Rev. James Richard Eckford, 79, died Monday, Dec. 6, 2004, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He served as pastor at Central Grove, Oakhill, New Tabernacle, New Zion, New Macedonia and Red Oak Baptist churches. He was a member of Oakhill Missionary Baptist Church and the Booneville Baptist Association. He was a U.S. Army veteran, and a member of Masonic Lodge No. 453 and the Heroines of Jericho. He worked for the Prentiss County School District and the Banner Independent newspaper, and retired from ITT.

Services will be at noon Saturday at the Springhill District Building with Pastor Charles Frank Barnes Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Rienzi Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include his wife, Hattie Eckford; six sons, William E. Eckford and Mary, Larry J. Eckford and Maudine, Charles Eckford and Cheryl, Willie Lee Eckford and Margie, Glen Kohliem and Cynthia, and Bruce Kohliem; three daughters, Gennie Smith and Hermon, Lisa Crockett and Jerry, and Denise Montgomery and William; two sisters, Georgia Gamble and Dorothy Tye; 24 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, two brothers-in-law.

James Albert "Abb" Edge, 85, of Booneville, died Saturday, March 25, 2000, at the Cedars Health Center in Tupelo after an extended illness.

Cornelius Lee "Carl" Edge, 20, died Friday. July 26, 2002, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident near Pontotoc.

Services were Monday, July 29, at 2 p.m. at the Highway 15 Church of Christ in Pontotoc, with Bro. Robert Kingsley and Bro. Gene Collums officiating. Burial was in Unity Cemetery near Saltillo. Booneville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

He was born April 18, 1982, in Tupelo. He was a horse trainer. He was a member of the Highway 15 Church of Christ in Pontotoc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, animals and the outdoors.

He is survived by his parents, Kenny and Teresa Phillips of Pontotoc; two brothers, Bruce Parker of Tupelo and Joseph Walters of Pontotoc, a sister, Marlena Penland of Hattiesburg, grandparents, Prentiss and Brenda Edge of Guntown and Virginia Nichols of Saltillo; two nephews, Tony Lee Parker Jr. and Bryce Dylan Parker; two nieces, Brooke Leann Walters and Americus Kaylee Parker.

SALTILLO - Lois M. Edge, 85, died Friday, Dec. 19, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a brief illness. She ran a daycare in Saltillo for 10 years, from 1965 to 1975. She was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a member of the Saltillo First Baptist Church, but attended Pratts Christian Church.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Waters Funeral Home with Dr. Ken Anderson, Bro. R.P. Davison and Bro. Tim Green officiating. Burial will be in the Saltillo Cemetery.

BOONEVILLE - Martha Ann Alvetta Edge, 83, died Monday, Feb. 28, 2005, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born Dec. 1, 1921, in Prentiss County to Isaac and Rebecca Emiline Beasley Brown. She was a homemaker and a member of the Booneville Church of God. She loved her church, and enjoyed reading her Bible and listening to gospel music.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Acy Edge Sr., in 1968; a sister, Iletta Neeley; a brother, J.B. Brown; and a great-granddaughter, Kara Pounds.

Monroe Edge, 74, of Route 4, Box 506, Booneville, died Sunday, July 21, 1985, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital after an extended illness.

Services were Tuesday, July 23, at 2 p.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with Charles Stephenson and Jim Archer officiating. Burial was in Snowdown Cemetery.

Mr. Edge was retired. He was a Baptist.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Olivia Criswell Edge; a son, Adrian Edge of Booneville; a step-son, Dennis Criswell of Booneville; two step-daughters, Lynda Beard of Booneville and Daphna Stephens of Tupelo; two sisters, Emma Woodruff of Booneville and Sallie Al1ard of Texas; one grandchild and eight step-grandchildren.

BOONEVILLE ‑ Nettie Swinney Edge, 83, died Sunday. July 30, 2000, at Cedars Health Center after an extended illness. She was a homemaker and attended Booneville Independent Church of God. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Albert Edge, who died Mardi 25, 2000.

BOONEVILLE - Tiffany Nicole Nell Edge, newborn daughter of Billy and Rachel Edge, died Saturday, Oct. 5, 2002, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.

BOONEVILLE - Linda Sue Grizzard Edmond, 50, died Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2002, at her home. She enjoyed cooking and babysitting.

TISHOMINGO ‑ Ronald D. Edmondson, 52, died Friday, Dec. 17, 1999, at Iuka Hospital. He was employed as a truck driver of Allied Systems in Memphis. He was a U. S. Army veteran of Vietnam. He was a 30 year member of the Teamsters Local No. 984 of Memphis. He was preceded iu death by his lather, Retain Edmondson.

CORINTH - Floyd Lee Edmondson, 54, died Sunday, June 19, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Belmont. He was an electrician with the Tishomingo County Power Association for eight years and a member of Local 852 IBEW for 26 years. He operated the Corinth/Alcorn Recreation Park Concessions for 21 years. He was a District 5 deputy commissioner with ASA softball. He loved his family and friends, and enjoyed all types of sports.

SALTILLO - Christopher Scott "Chris" Edwards, 25, died Sunday, June 6, 2004, at his home. He was a graduate of Saltillo High School and Itawamba Community College with a degree in network administration. He was a foreman with Smurfit-Stone Container Corp. in Saltillo for more than seven years. He was a member of Mayfield Church of Christ. An avid hunter and fisherman, he enjoyed meeting new friends and making his family happy. He always had a smile on his face.

BOONEVILLE - Leonard David Elam, 71, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004, at his residence at Lake Mohawk. He was born Sept. 16, 1932, in Alcorn County, the son of Allen and Lillian Potts Elam. He was the former manager and longtime employee of the Dodge's store in Booneville. He was a member of the Concord Baptist Church. He was the past president of the Corinth Civitan Club and was voted Civitan of the Year. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and an avid Ole Miss Rebel fan.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Concord Baptist Church with Bro. Robert Walker and Bro. Billy Little officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.

CORINTH - Donald Lafayette Elam, 67, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the Mississippi Care Center in Corinth. He was born March 20, 1937, in Corinth to the late Elmo Thomas and Mae Henry Dilworth Elam. He spent the last 23 years as a resident of the Mississippi Care Center Nursing Home. He truly loved all of the staff and the residents. All will miss him.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in the Antioch Cemetery.

Ena Oakley Elder, 71, of Booneville, died Sunday, March 26, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after several months of illness.

Services were Tuesday, March 28, at 10 a.m. at McMillan Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Bill Duncan officiating. Burial was in Booneville Cemetery.

Mrs. Elder was the widow of Roy Elder. She was a housewife and a Methodist.

She is survived by a son, Roy Neal Elder of Booneville, two daughters, Marsha Jones of Booneville and Rhonda Haynie of Corinth; a brother, Melvin Oakley of Booneville; and four grandchildren.

Martha Willodean Elder, 72, died Friday, July 12, 2002, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Services were Sunday, July 14, at the Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Baker officiating. Burial was in Tippah Memorial Gardens. Booneville Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

She was born July 16. 1930. in Prentiss County, the daughter of Dalton Ray Chaffin and Lillie Mae Walker Chaffin.

She was a member of Thrasher United Methodist Church.

She was a retired cabinet factory worker. She enjoyed sewing and gardening.

She is survived by her husband, Orphus Elder; a brother. Kenneth Chaffin and his wife, Charlene, of Booneville; two sisters Mac McCoy of Ripley and Lois Wallis and her husband, Charles of Southaven; a son, Bobby Davidson Jr. and his wife, Dec. of Booneville; a grandson, Gary Wayne Davidson of Booneville: two granddaughters, Christy Davidson McDonald of Pascagoula and Amber Davidson Howard of Mobile, Ala.; and three great-grandchildren.

Former Prentiss Sheriff Elder Dies

BOONEVILLE – Roy Elder, who served eight years as sheriff of Prentiss County, died Tuesday morning in Nashville, Tenn.

Mr. Elder, 63, had undergone open heart surgery at St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville.

Serving Prentiss County as sheriff in two separate terms, Elder left office at the end of 1975.

Prior to becoming sheriff, he had worked for the city of Booneville as street superintendent. He was a member of Wheeler Methodist Church.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from Wheeler Methodist Church. Burial will be in Booneville Cemetery with the Rev. Jimmy Grissom officiating.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Ena Oakley Elder; one son, Roy Neal Elder, Homestead, Fla.; two daughters, Marsha Elder, Memphis and Mrs. Rhonda Fleming, Booneville: two brothers, Harold Elder, Memphis and Orphus Elder, Bacherie, La.; three sisters, Mrs. Bervil Eatson, Carolton, Mrs. Mary Neil Lann, Tupelo and Miss Dorrene Elder, Wheeler; one grandson.

ORPHUS ELDER

BOONEVILLE - Orphus Elder, 86, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. He was born Aug. 13, 1917, in Prentiss County to Hardin Penn Elder and Maude Faye Michael Elder. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Booneville. He was a U. S. Army veteran. He worked as a Mississippi Highway Patrolman and a Deputy Sheriff and retired as a road crew manager with the Mississippi Department of Transportation. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. today at the Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jimmy Glover officiating. Burial will be in the Tippah Memorial Gardens in Ripley.

Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Elder of Booneville and Sherry Davis and her husband, Jerry, of Columbus; a sister, Doreene Elder of Booneville; three grandchildren, Melissa Boleman and her husband, Todd, of Ocean Springs, Greg Davis and his wife, Jenn, of Glendora, Calif., and Candace Gibson and her husband, Jeffrey, of Oxford; seven great-grandchildren.

Benjamin Frank Eldridge, 72, of Route, 2, Rienzi, died Saturday, June 29, 1985, at the North Mississippi Medical Center following six months of illness.

Services were Sunday, June 30, at 3 p.m. at Rienzi Baptist Church with Dwight Massengill, Johnny Richardson and Wiley Gann officiating. Burial was in Sardis Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Mr. Eldridge was a retired farmer and a member of Rienzi Baptist Church. He served six years on the Alcorn School Board and was a former. Sunday School teacher.

. Mr. Eldridge was a boilermaker, a member of Tuscumbia Baptist Church, a Mason and a member of Boilermakers Local #263.

He is survived by his wife, Kaye Grimes Eldridge; his parents, Stanley and Daphene Mathis Eldridge of Booneville; two daughters, Jenny Hatfield and her husband, Darryl, of Booneville, and Amy Lynn Young and her husband, Terry, of Nettleton; one son, Michael Larame Eldridge of the home; three grandchildren, Bryson and Brooke Hatfield and Teri Leigh Young.

CHAS. T ELLIOTT

The family of Mr. Tarp Elliott was made sad on January 13 when sudden death came to him at his home. He was 64 years of age, a well-known farmer of Prentiss County. He was born in Franklin County, Ala., in 1880 and grew up to young manhood there. He was married to Miss Dena Nelson and moved to this section where he spent his remaining days. To Mr. and Mrs. Elliott were born large family of children of whom survive: Dexter, Mrs. Colman Stricklin, Dayton of Grenada, PFC. Edward some where in France, Fred, Aubrey, Mrs. Willie Timbs, Mrs. Talbert Jourdan, and Mrs. W. H. MeNeil.

Pallbearers were nephews and grandson.

Funeral services were held at Little Flock Church Sunday at two o'clock with the Rev. Clifford Rinehart conducting services. Funeral arrangements were in charge of McMillan and Son.

CLEO ELLIOTT

Cleo Elliott, 95, died Sunday, Nov. 4, 2001, at the Tishomingo Manor Nursing Home in Iuka. She was a member of Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church and the widow of Edward Elliott.

Services were at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bobby Elliott and Minister John Hardwick officiating. Burial was in Little Flock Cemetery in Burnsville.

Survivors include a son, Charles Elliot of Dumas; a daughter, Willie Mae Johnson of Iuka; four sisters, Mildred Bonds, Blanche Rhodes and Lottie Smith, all of Pearl, and Syble Thompson of Grenada; six grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; seven great great-grandchildren.

MRS. JESSIE WOODLEY ELLIOTT

Mrs. Jessie Woodley Elliott, 73, died at Tishomingo County Hospital about 4 a.m. Sunday, February 25, 1973, after an extended illness.

Services were held at 2 p.m. Monday, February 26, at Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery. The Rev. Clifford Rinehart officiated.

She leaves her husband, Dexter Elliott; one daughter, Mrs. J. T. South of Burnsville; and three grandchildren.

MARILYN JANET KAYE ELLIOTT

Marilyn Janet Kaye Elliott, 55, died Friday, March 8, 2002, at her residence in Booneville following a brief illness. She was a member of the Baptist church and a retired industrial worker. She was the daughter of the late George and Dovie

Hutcheson Kaye. She enjoyed doing special things for her grandchildren.

Services were at 2 p.m. Monday at Forest Grove Baptist Church near Tishomingo. Burial was in the church cemetery. Salts Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.

Survivors include two daughters, Pamela Olive and her husband, Bobby, of Booneville, and Stephanie Thrasher and her husband, Michael, of Shannon; three sisters, Betty Cosby and Eleanor Floyd, both of Tishomingo, and Carolyn Ligion of Rienzi; three brothers,, Reader Kaye, Franklin Kaye, and Dayton Kaye, all of Tishomingo; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rayner Kaye and Terry Kaye.

MRS. MINARVA POLK ELLEDGE

Old Resident Passes Away

In the death of Mrs. Minarva Polk Elledge last Wednesday, the county lost one of it's oldest residents. Her death occurred at the home of her daughter, Bro. & Mrs. W. C. Patterson at Burtons where she had made her home for a number of years.

Mrs. Elledge was born near Oxford, 8 Jan 1850 and was in her 89th year. She united with the Missionary Baptist Church 72 years ago and had been a faithful and devoted member all these years. After she was married to the late J. R. Elledge the greater part of her life was spent in the Burtons Community.

Funeral services were held at Forked Oak Church last Thursday and were in the charge of the pastor, Bro. W. G. Gray. After the services her remains were laid to rest in the Forked Oak Cemetery. Many beautiful flowers marked her last resting place.

She is survived by two sons Bro Willie I Elledge of Harrisburg, Ark., and J. W. Elledge of Fulton, Ky.; and one daughter, Mrs. W. C. Patterson of Burtons, Miss. and many other relatives.

Edward Clayton Elliott, 68, Burnsville, died at 10:04 p.m. Tuesday at Veterans Hospital Memphis, after two weeks of failing health.

Mr. Elliott was a retired farmer and was a veteran of World War II.

Services were held at 3 p.m. Thursday from Little Flock Primitive Baptist Church. Burial was in the church cemetery with Bro. Quitman DePoyster officiating. McMillan Funeral Home of Booneville was in charge of the arrangements.

He leaves his wife, Mrs. Lula Cleo Hardwick Elliott; one son, Milton Charles Elliott, Ripley; one daughter, Mrs. Willie Mae Johnson, Iuka; three brothers Dexter Elliott, Burnsville, Dayton Elliott, Natchez and Fred Elliott, Florence, Ala.; four sisters, Mrs. Minnie Strickland and Mrs. Mammie Timbes, both of Burnsville, Mrs. Euna McNeil, Tishomingo and Mrs. Grace Scott, Red Bay, Ala.

EULA ELLIOTT

Eula Carter Elliott, 79, died Saturday, Sept. 22, 2001, at the Courtyard Nursing Home in Fulton.

Services were Tuesday, Sept. 25, at 2 p.m. at Salts Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jerry Mitchell and the Rev. Jackie Spencer officiating. Burial was in Prentiss Memorial Gardens.

Mrs. Elliott was a retired industrial worker, having worked at Brown Shoe Company for 25 years. She was a member of Crestwood Baptist Church.

She is survived by one sister. Maxine Allen of Florence, Ala., four brothers, Merl Carter and his wife, Elizabeth, of Florence, Medford Carter and his wife, Emma, of Mantachie, Wayne Carter and his wife, Ada, and Roy Carter and his wife, Kay, all of Arizona.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Elliott; her parents, Luther and Blanche Carter: and two brothers, Ewell and Vaudre Carter.

LLOYD ELLIOTT

Lloyd Gene Elliott, 58, of Booneville, died Saturday, Feb. 14, 1998, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville after an extended illness.

Services were Monday, Feb. 16, at 1 p.m. at Salts Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Tony Brown officiating. Burial was in New Bethel Cemetery.

Mr. Elliott was a lifelong resident of Prentiss County and a retired truck driver. He was a member of the Baptist church and enjoyed doing special things for his family and friends.

He is survived by one daughter, Melissa Akins and her husband, Ken, of Blue Mountain; one son, David Elliott and his wife, Renai, of Booneville, Lois Elliott of Booneville; and one granddaughter Anna Grace Elliott, his father, Foey Elliott

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Barbara Sue Wright; and one son Harold Dean Elliott.

DENNIS - Travis Lee Elliott Jr., 57, died Friday, Jan. 2, 2004, at his residence. He was a mechanic for many years and a member of the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Travis Lee Elliott Sr.

Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Bro. Waldo Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the New Bethel Church of Christ Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife, Jean Marie Elliott of Brighton, Tenn.; four daughters, Serena Jo Barnett, Wendy Kay Gairhan and Cassandra Leigh Elliott, all of Brighton, Tenn., and Tina Belinda Reynolds of Dennis; his mother, Anna Oaks Elliott; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Linda Jane Wallace and Bennie Joy Dorris.

Pallbearers will be James Oaks, Wade Oaks, Sam Pritchard, Randy Younger, Pete McDaniel and Michael Pafford.

BALDWYN - Ashton Blake Ellis, newborn, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2003, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Women's Hospital.

Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Baldwyn Church of God with Bro. Marvin Henry officiating. Burial will be in the Baldwyn Masonic Cemetery. Kesler-Coggins Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of the arrangements.

MRS. MARY ELLIS

Mrs. Mary Ellis Dies In Indianapolis, Ind.

Booneville friends were saddened over the recent news received by Misses Alice Ad Susie Ellis announcing the passing of Mrs. Mary Ellis at her home in Indianapolis, Indiana, on October 22, 1964.

Mrs. Ellis had been in ill health for a year or more.

Her husband, Irving Ellis, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. P. Ellis of Booneville, preceded her in death in 1939, a year after this beloved couple came to Booneville to make, their home. They resided in the apartments with the late Mrs. Roy Barnett on Main St.

Mrs., Ellis was a lady of rare charm and she endeared herself to an admiring circle of friends, who sincerely regret her death. She was buried in the family plot in Indianapolis.

She leaves a sister, Mrs. Rose Bauer of Indianapolis, who made her home with Mrs. Ellis; a niece and nephew, and two sisters-in-law, Misses Alice and Susie Ellis of Booneville.

SANDRA JOYCE ELLIS

Sandra Joyce Ellis, 47, of Shannon, died Wednesday, Jan. 23, 2002, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Funeral services were held Friday, Jan. 25. Burial was in Lee Memorial Cemetery.

Local survivors include a sister, Diane McGee of Booneville.

VERA M. ELLISON

JACKSON - Vera M. Ellison, 86, died Monday, April 7, 2003, at Lakeland Health Care Center. She was a native of Baldwyn and a resident of the Jackson area since the late 1940s. She was a graduate of Union University in Jackson, Tenn. She was a former teacher and coach in Guntown and Marietta, and a retired executive secretary for Lamar Life Insurance Company. She was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church in Madison.

Services will be at 11 a.m. today at Wright & Ferguson Funeral Home in Ridgeland. Burial will be in Parkway Memorial Cemetery.

Survivors include her husband of 50 years, B. E. Ellison of Jackson; two sons, Bill Ellison and wife, Lynn, and Jim Ellison and wife, Candace, all of Madison; three grandchildren, Brian Ellison and wife, Angie, of Oxford, and Corey Ellison and Max Ellison, both of Madison; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Ellison of Oxford; four sisters, Ruth Hankins and Mildred Timmons, both of Saltillo, and Audrey Miller and Mary Lou Bishop, both of Baldwyn.

Visitation will begin at 10 a.m. today at the funeral home.

BILLY D. ELLSWORTH

CORINTH - Billy D. Ellsworth, 70, died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. A native of Alcorn County, he was born May 25, 1934, to the late William D. "Bill" and Mary Ellsworth. He retired from the City of Corinth Gas and Water Department. He previously worked as a truck driver and in construction. He attended Clear Creek Church of Christ. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and especially riding his four-wheeler.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewayne Ellis and the Rev. Warren Jones officiating. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Margie Davis Ellsworth of Corinth; five sons, Jeffery Ellsworth, Ray Ellsworth and wife, Teresa, and Todd Ellsworth and wife, Susan, all of Corinth, David Ellsworth and wife, Pam, of Tupelo, and Billy Danie Ellsworth and wife, Jimmie Sue, of Amory; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.

RIPLEY - Harold Aaron Elrod, 71, died Friday, April 15, 2005, at the Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. He was a member of the Wesley Congregational Methodist Church. He was a deacon for 21 years and a church leader for 24 years. He was the former owner of Productive Screw Machine Co. in Ripley and a Woodman of the World agent. He also taught industrial arts and drafting at Ripley High School. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean conflict.

Services were at 3 p.m. Saturday at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kenneth Harrison, Bro. Chris Gillespie, Bro. Henry Cooper and Bro. Robert McCoy officiating. Burial was in Tippah Memorial Garden in Ripley.

Survivors include his wife, Anita Sparks Elrod of Ripley; three daughters, Phyllis Clemmer and husband, David A., of Ripley, Paula Wohlfarth and husband, Jim, of Falkner, and Pam Moore and husband, Bro. Jeff Moore; a sister, Jerlene Daniel of Florence, Ala.; two brothers, Royce Elrod of Phil Campbell, Ala., and Robert Elrod of Belmont; five grandchildren, Derek Clemmer, Justin Mansell, Brittney Clemmer, Kristin Moore and Kelsey Moore.

He was preceded in death by his parents, F.D. and Bertha Ridge Elrod.

RED BAY, Ala. - Lucy Sisk Elrod, 72, died Wednesday, Jan. 19, 2005, in Arkansas. A native of Corning, Ark., she was a homemaker and a bookkeeper. She was a member of Trinity Assembly of God in Red Bay, Ala.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Friday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay, Ala., with Bro. David Kelly officiating. Burial will be in Black Creek Cemetery in Poplar Bluff, Mo.

Survivors include her husband, Bill Elrod of Red Bay, Ala.; her mother, Myrtle Webb of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; two daughters, Jackie Hixon of Lakeland, Fla., and Joanie Burton of North Little Rock, Ark.; five stepchildren, Glenn Elrod of Belmont, Larry Elrod of Marion County, Ala., Donnis Elrod and Charlotte Bates, both of Red Bay, Ala., and Tammy Tucker of Golden; a sister, Mary Burris of St. Louis, Mo.; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, J.W. Sisk; her father, Pearle Webb; a sister, Shirley Riley; and a brother, Charles Webb.

Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Friday.
